Started in the year 1997, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is the fifth among the 13 Indian Institutes of Management set up by the government. 42 students formed the first batch of the institute. The Institute proved its pioneering self by becoming a trail-blazer in Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) activities and pioneering management education through a synchronous interactive learning mode in the Asia Pacific region. Currently IIMK offers an year long general management program (EMEP) and 4 function-specific 6 month programs in marketing, finance, operations and strategy for working executives through the satellite-based technology. These programs are the best in the country providing 450 class contact hours.
