National Law University Delhi, was established in 2008 keeping in mind the need for legal courses that integrate economics, technology and law. Convergence of these three is the need of the hour if the institute is to compete with its global counterparts.
In its relatively young history, the institute has attempted to bring about a paradigm shift in the legal education and the way it is delivered in the country. The efforts of the legal fraternity have enabled the establishment of this focused university of law. The success of the institutes can be attributed to the judiciary, the legal fraternity and the state governments that made the creation of this university possible by providing necessary infrastructure and financial support in the initial phase.
NLU Delhi places its main focus on the design of a comprehensive curriculum that prepares lawyers to be up-to-date and ready for the newest challenges and be equipped with faculties that would enable them to compete globally. The institute is doing its part to live up to the expectation and requirements of the younger generation and achieving greater heights and setting new benchmarks already. The pedagogy is specially designed to inculcate in the young budding lawyers the ability to think critically, be well conversant and versed with the legal principles and able to think holistically.
The course pedagogy bridges the gap between theoretical and practical application of concepts. The institute promotes distant as well as continuing legal education at all levels in order to achieve excellence.
