: Consignment Booking Assistant is also known as Booking Assistant, Booking Clerk or Order Booker. Individuals in this role are responsible for receiving customer order details, checking market prices, availability and making bookings with transport companies to pick up the consignment. They are also responsible for going to the client location, checking the goods, preparing the Lorry Receipt (LR), updating the information in the computer system and billing.

This job requires the individual to work in a team that will include truck drivers, warehouse representatives and transport coordinators. The individual must be able to prioritize and execute tasks within scheduled time limits. The individual should be able to maintain high concentration levels and have a thorough understanding of routes and vehicle loads.

After completing this programme, participants will be able to:

• Awareness on various types of documents that are required during the inbound and outbound consignment movement, problems faced while handling inwards & outwards bound consignments, planning and organizing the documents and maintaining timelines
• General introduction to documents, types of documents that will be required in different modes of transportation. Checks required while receiving inbound transportation, preparing the plan for the day, ensuring the smooth functions, checks to be performed during operations, paperwork that has to be carried out.
• As inputs are received in soft copy, documentation preparation also requires MS office knowledge. Ensuring that all required documents are prepared, cross checked and submitted without errors. Planning and prioritizing, with proper communication between peers. Checking the conditions and prioritizing the route, based on understanding of the present conditions.
